Strong US consumer interest in gut health
October 21, 2022More and more is known about the effect of fibers on our digestive health. The effects go beyond the gut and have a positive influence on our general wellbeing and for example mental health. To gain more insights into the need for more healthy food, the status of the fiber gap and the knowledge of prebiotics, Sensus performed its own US consumer research.
This research shows that US consumers are increasingly aware of the importance of fibers, their digestive health and the effect of a healthy gut on overall health. Important outcomes:
- For 75% of US consumers digestive health is an issue.
- More than half of the consumers don’t think they eat enough fiber.
- 3 out of 5 participants think that what they eat has an influence on their mood.
A total of 2500 US consumers participated in an online survey. Respondents were aged between 18 and 75 years old. The study, which was developed and managed by a reliable research partner, MSI-ACI. MSI-ACI is a subsidiary of the independent, global, market research company MSI International which gathers data and carries out consumer studies for globally leading brands in more than 40 countries worldwide.
