Royal Cosun
Sensus is part of the Royal Cosun group. Cosun is an agro-industrial group that processes arable crops and other vegetable raw materials. It is a cooperative of some 8,100 Dutch sugar beet growers. The cooperative has been processing its members’ sugar beet since 1899.
Nowadays six business groups are part of Royal Cosun: Aviko, Cosun Beet Company, Duynie Group, Sensus, Cosun Biobased Experts and Cosun Protein. They produce a wide range of ingredients and intermediate products from vegetable raw materials such as sugar beet, potatoes, chicory, fruit and vegetables for the international food industry. They also supply products to the animal feed sector, develop building blocks for biobased chemicals and produce bio-energy (green gas).
Cosun actively develops and produces functional ‘green’ chemicals and materials based on renewable vegetable raw materials. Cosun Research & Development (R&D) has a modern, well-equipped facility in the Cosun Innovation Centre, where it works on new and improved applications of vegetable raw materials, innovates process technology, optimises energy management and, in cooperation with customers or otherwise, develops new products.
